Logo Evolution and Final Design

I began with thinking of colours appropriate for the logo and settled ona scheme simalar to those of Endometriosis charties. These being purple and yellow. With this in mind i began sketching.




These logos dont feature the use of yellow yet but this would be done in the first designs.

This first draft shows the use of  yellow and the final shape of the logo. I wanted it to resemble a female abdomen without being too literal so i feel that the hourglass shape is a good fit for the purpose.

The second draft shows both arms. I have made the body slightly transparent and set the arms behind to give more dimention.

Just some minor adjustments for the third draft. I made the logo shorter but i may go back to the arms of the second draft. I want to make sure it works as an icon for social media pages.



The next step was for me to change the hands. For this, i took pictures of my own for reference.
I am happy with this design at this stage. I just wonder what i can do to it to give it a bit more polish without over working it. 



This is my final logo design. I feel that it suits what it is intended for and represents a body with arms over the effected area.

The above is not my final logo design. I looked at it more and i hated the hands, they look awful.
I messed around some more and i thought about the brand i wanted to create whilst still keeping the symbolism i want.

 

This is the almost finished logo and brand name. I still may add a few finishing touches and experiment but i do not want to over work it.

Whilst looking for a leaflet about endometriosis, i found one that is given to patient before having surgery to diagnose and remove endometriosis. Speaking from personal experience, my own research and my own time spent speaking with various doctors and nurses over 9 years. I have broken the leaflet down to make comments on each section. From the outset, the leaflet mentions that it is a laparoscopy which is minimally invasive keyhole surgery. One key part of the surgery is that carbon dioxide is used to inflate the abdomen allowing the surgeon more movement and vision within the abdomen. This i will come back to later. Animations that Address Issues

I first tried to look for something simalar to what i am planning to do. The only videos i could find were very clinical. They showed a lot of detail about endometriosis and theres no soft approach to it. I instead tried to look for other instances where it was difficult to talk about the subject but an animation was created to help shed light on the issue. Recently, campaigns to raise awareness of mental health issues has been on the rise. We All Have Mental Health 2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxIDKZHW3-E&t=33s   The animation tells a story of a school girl feeling stressed and how she approaches her mother about it. It then goes on to talk about a boy who had great difficulty overcoming his feelings and had problems talking to people about it. Leaflet so far

This is the current standing of the front page. The colours should help the leaflet stand out. I also included the word endometriosis at the top if the leaflet is stacked in a way that the title is covered. This is the middle of the leaflet. I am yet to add any illustrations but wanted to make sure i got the layout of the information correct and that i had sufficient space to fit it. The back page i have reserved for links to more information and a still image of the animation with a link to that.
