Mucus Cough Advert

Image
When thinking of the narrative for my animation, i remembered seeing an advert on TV with a man struggling with a mucus monster and using the cough medicine to get rid of him. I realised my narrative has similarities to this but i feel like its different enough to not be a direct copy since i plan to have a bit more whimsy with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk_eT7yoht4 The Benylin advert has little narritive and just displays a man being harrassed by the monster, which he fights to get to the bathroom to get the cough medicine. In my animation, i hope to show the gremlins causing a problem and how she addresses them individually to help shrink them. I am wondering at this point, how long my animation may end up being but i will have to cut what i can in order to achieve it in the time frame.

Narrative Development

Image
I started to work on a narrative and do a vague story board so i knew the main points i wanted to hit.   This first image just explains the general idea of the plot. My initial idea is to have a young female moving into her uni dorm. Once she settles in, some monsters appear representing some symptoms of Endometriosis. They start to ruin the dorm based on their symptom so bloating eats all the horrible food and inflates, fatigue ruins the bed and sleeps in it, bleeding steals all her good clothes and pain takes away things that she treasures. This isnt definate but this is the general idea so far.  The first solution is she works with the monster to help reduce them. So with bloating she would take away the sugary food and with fatigue she would begin exercising with and settling down for an occasional nap. The others is were i struggle to think of a management method but i willl do some more research on this.  An alternative narrative would be th...

Adobe After Effects Testing

Image
I wanted to test various software types to see what would work best for my project. I decided to start with Adobe After Effects as i had some familiarity with this but it had been a few years since i had used it. To reintroduce myself to the software, i followed a quick and simple Youtube tutorial so get my self familiar with the program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ztwm0OTPqyI Using this, i was able to complete the tutorial quite quickly without any struggles.  I changed a few things from the tutorial and played around with a few more effects but i found this could be very useful for parts of my project. I could use this in conjunction with some other animation software.
